Happy Sunday!
As we wrap the second week back, I thought it would be helpful to outline what to expect from Oversharing going forward.
Everything is still free for the moment, but starting soon, paid subscribers will get three editions of Oversharing a week, full access to the archive, and exclusive access to comments and community threads.
It’s important to me that Oversharing remains accessible to anyone interested in the sharing economy, so the Tuesday edition—the version of Oversharing that longtime readers are used to, rounding up the news—will stay free.
Paid subscribers will get the deeper dives:
In-depth analyses of the gig economy, mobility, and urban life
Original reporting
Detailed breakdowns of academic studies and complex laws and regulations
Q&As with top thinkers and experts in these fields
The schedule will inevitably vary somewhat based on the news, but at the moment here’s what I’m envisioning:
Tuesday: The traditional version of Oversharing. Commentary on a roundup of newsy topics in the sharing economy, mobility, and urban tech, plus links.
Wednesday/Thursday: In-depth looks at research and studies, laws and policies, business models, or important news stories. Industry analysis that helps you better understand the sharing economy and adjacent sectors.
Saturday/Sunday: Q&As with industry experts, book reviews, longreads. Content that pairs well with a cup of tea on the weekend.
In other things, I joined my friend Walt Hickey’s Numlock News to talk the sharing economy, sustainable cities, and how I got through all of The Power Broker during lockdown. Numlock subscribers can read a transcript of our conversation or listen to the podcast here.
That’s all from me, hope everyone is having a great weekend and see you Tuesday,
Ali
I'd never heard of Numlock News, maybe because much of its content is US-oriented while I live in Canada, so I just checked it out and I see that it also has very interesting non-US content, so I've just subscribed (at the free tier for now). Which allowed me to listen to the podcast episode with Ali Griswold as guest. I enjoyed it thoroughly and I highly recommend it to my fellow Oversharing readers. (And as a longtime Oversharing reader it was pretty cool to hear what Ali Griswold sounds like – I wonder whether as I continue to read Oversharing I'll be hearing it in the Ali voice.)
